Get moving this National Fitness Day, 24 September 2025

Comments Off on Get moving this National Fitness Day, 24 September 2025

How will you be keeping active this National Fitness Day? Whether it’s trying out a new exercise class, taking a dip in the pool, or having a go in the gym, this nationwide campaign is all about inspiring people to move more and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of being active every single day.

With one in four people in England classed as inactive (doing less than 30 minutes of physical activity a week), National Fitness Day is a powerful opportunity to get millions more people moving and support the NHS by improving the nation’s health.

Did you know?

The UK Chief Medical Officers’ Guidelines recommend:

  • Adults: At least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week – or a mix of both.
  • Strengthening activities: At least two days a week.
  • Reduce sitting: Break up long periods of inactivity.
  • Children and young people: At least 60 minutes of activity every day.

Powered by You!

This year’s theme, ‘Powered by You!’, celebrates the role everyone can play, from individuals and communities to businesses, schools and hospitals, in spreading the message about the importance of physical activity.

As more people prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing, National Fitness Day is a chance to celebrate all the ways we can stay active to support our health and quality of life.

Babylon A.D/ Bad Actress

Comments Off on Babylon A.D/ Bad Actress
BABYLON A.D.
Formed back in 1987, one of the major players of the MTV glam metal generation, hard rock outfit BABYLON A.D. from San Francisco Bay will be heading to the UK for a short tour in September 2025.
Chosen to headline the HRH Sleaze festival this year, they will make their first trip back to the UK since their appearance at FireFest in 2017, and this time they’d like to explore opportunities at some of our most popular city music venues.
They have released three new albums since last time they performed here and have another due for release in August which will time perfectly with a September tour.
With 36 years of touring and recording experience behind them, a healthy social fanbase of over 15K followers and a set packed with classic tracks and new material the band have everything to offer in the way of live shows. The touring band line-up includes three of the original band members from 1987 – Derek Davies (vocals), and guitarists Ron Freschi and John Matthews. Bassist Craig Pepe and drummer Dylan Soto both joined in 2023.
The live shows are loud, high energy, professional and a winner with any fans of pure, unapologetic, old-school rock and roll.
Bad Actress
heart, soul & rock ‘n’ roll
Long before BAD ACTRESS burst on to their local music scene in 2018, each of the members had been clocking up performing, writing and recording experience with different bands of different styles and influences.
In bringing all this together they quickly established an extensive catalogue of solid original material, rooted in ‘good time’ hard rock and written to impress.
They use each and every one of their live performances to showcase this material and soon bagged a few awards for their efforts. Since then, they have been delighting crowds wherever they go.
They’ve supported top acts such as Gun, Electric Boys and Hardline, and completed two UK tours supporting Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Dead Daisies, Journey). They’ve played festivals and headline shows the length and breadth of the UK, including headlining the second stage at the Hard Rock Hell Sleaze Fest 2022 in the Sheffield O2
